Sous mes pieds

2011 – “Serres Lez’Arts”, Serres, France

On a bridge, Alejandro Guzzetti had a bird’s eye view of the space. Water, stones and … a fish. Buried under the rubble of branches shed by surrounding trees, he seemed to be waiting for him, a blind and invisible creature, unknown to all. The artist captures his presence, he sees him. He goes down into the river and starts grooming the fish in order to restore his identity, to make it spring in the sight of all. Ephemeral vision, the fish disappears, covered by the river as it becomes tumultuous. He has known the water in its double reality, both protective, quiet when it is warm, and destructive, angry when it is stormy.
