2011 – Church of the Hamlet of Saint-Michel, Chaillol, France

The organizers proposed two themes: the forest and the vertical landscape.

Alejandro Guzzetti, inspired by the matter, approaches once again a subject close to his heart: the Indian populations of Alto Xingu region in the Amazon, a theme already presented two years ago during an exhibition in Italy.
Far from the dizzying dance of the world, down here everything is harmony and balance. Water, the essence of life, is represented in its verticality. From the earth emerge the rivers populated by fishes. The pirogues, protective asylums for the men of Amazonia, sail on the surface, caressed by the drops of rain that give back to the Earth the moisture taken by the heat. Men are thus linked to the Earth by water and its life cycle. This reminds human beings that they must take care of this precious natural environment.
