La Poltrona
2011 / 2015 – Stonecutter Art – La Roche des Arnauds, France
Local residents were accustomed to walk without paying much attention to the ruins, remnants of the hard work of their forefathers. One day, they noticed a stone sofa and a small wooden table, suddenly appeared in what was a shelter for stonecutters. Who has stirred so many stones to revive this place? They conducted the investigation which would lead them to Alejandro Guzzetti.
The latter, for five years, has tried to work the stone. He has reinforced the crumbled walls, built stairs, become the friend of the tree which, despite the aridity of the place, was trying to start its life. The place was named “La Poltrona”.
The Poltrona has become a public area. A Biennial of Land art, entitled “Myths and Legends of the Poltrona” takes place there, vagabond books have found here a refuge.
